This is the creepy hallway that I took a picture of around 2a.m. I probably could have done a 3am tour? hmm what ya think Trisha? I was usually the only one awake each night after 10pm. I had a total of 5 other roommates living in this wing: 2 nurse anesthesiologists, 2 pharmacy students and one PA student. Then our kitchen area is pictured which was very nice and the window had an awesome view of the mountains--but it was still 2am when I took this sooooo you cant see them!
The room was very spacious as it was once an actual hospital room...The view through that huge window was gorgeous too and I also saw soccer/football players practicing on the nearby stadium field and then big big mountains in the background.
And here we have my lovely bathroom--full accessibility as it even provided me with grab bars!! yay!! hahhaah...It also had a broken light above the sink which I kept telling the staff did not work, and then they would come in and tell me it does work each time. As you can see the shower was VERY tiny and the curtain would always stick to me, but the shower head was adjustable, but absolutely NO space to put any shower items inside so I had to put my soap box either on the sink counter or stuck inside a grab bar hahaha. I was also a bit afraid to use the toilet, but of course had to give in at some point.
At the hospital, we had a craft group twice a week, and here are some of the crafts I completed:
Here is a wall hanging made for me by a patient:) The patient who made this would couple with another female patient on the unit whenever we had craft group. They were both bipolar manic type and loved to paint. The one that did my painting though actually took her medication. They were both detainees so they could only come to one craft group each week since they could not leave the unit. So when they did come, they went all out:)
This is my friend Sarah that worked with me--she was on a different unit.
And then we made funny faces at the expense of her bf Matt's sanity...
We decided to switch our funny faces for the second picture. Thanks Matt!
And then we made Monkey Bread!! This pic is the bread fresh out the oven!
Paper crafts much?? YES!!! We made origami flowers and used pine branch stems from the tree outside the apartment! hahhaa.....thank gooodness she had a glue gun! Made for a great present for my OT supervisor along with the monkey bread:)
